a 2’ x 2’ x 2’ cube of polar wood and finished with polyurethane. i utilized the mortise and tenon method between the legs and aprons.
lots of sanding went into this piece to make the transition from the table top to the legs smooth and seamless.

this project took us through the iteration phases of a design. in slide 3, you can see where my design started as a foam model. from here, i did three 3D prints to make it better. all models were built in Rhino

as i’ve already posted, the process for the shade was tedious but so fun to learn: two vacuum formed plastic sheets over a lathed wooden buck and welded together with a hidden seam. the stand is laser cut and stained plywood
the only thing i didn’t make on this lamp is the cord.
